Sunday Smiles

Untitled

I've written and scheduled this post ahead of time, but I can guarantee you that I've been smiling all weekend as I've been involved in my friends' wedding. I couldn't be happier for them!!

I made these blue and coral birds from maple as part of their wedding gift. For those interested, the process begins with drawing out my design on paper, cutting it out, tracing it onto maple, cutting it out with a band saw, sanding with a machine, sanding by hand, drawing with pencil where I'm going to paint, applying sanding sealer, sanding the sanding sealer, painting several coats of acrylic paint, and then a couple coats of artists' varnish. And I'm really happy with how they turned out!

I'm so incredibly excited and happy for them, and so blessed I have such great friends in my life!

Happy Sunday my friends!
