Swan Doily

Untitled

This is the last navy and silver doily I have to share with you. It's called the Swan Doily, for reasons unknown to me. Although, I'm sure the job of naming doilies is not easy! I have a hard enough time naming my own few little patterns.

You can find the Swan Doily pattern here. I used Aunt Lydia's size 10 thread in Navy and Silver, with a 1.65mm hook.

I found it to be a fairly easy pattern, with the most time consuming part being the picots on the edge of course.

I really like the thin rounds of the second color in this doily. I don't think I've seen a vintage doily pattern quite like it before. (The original pattern calls for white and green or silver and green.)

I had fun searching for doilies that would work with two colors, and I think the five doilies made a pretty nice gift. (If you missed the other four, you can click on the following links: Two-Tone DoilyPink Petal DoilyStarshine Doily, and Cathedral Window.)

I think it's named Swan Doily because of the pineapple scallops : they resemble feathers ….. ?????? ;oD
