Mission Easter Table: Step 3

Easter Centerpieces

With glue gun in one hand, and moss in the other, pretend like you know what you're doing.  Check.

(And if you start to doubt yourself, have a pretend conversation with a friend who would do a better job; they'll talk you through it.)

I started this project by cutting floral foam with a steak knife (the exacto knives just weren't cutting it.  Well, they could cut it, but my foam was a couple of inches thick.  A longer blade made it much easier!) to fit on top of my pedestal candleholder (which I found at Target) and to fit inside little Crate and Barrel ramekins.

I hot glued two different colored mosses (and a little tree knot) onto the floral foam, hoping it looked somewhat natural.

Then I took my crocheted flowers (which I made from this Japanese book), glued on pearl beads and a short length of floral wire with Aleen's Tacky Glue, and then stuck the floral wire down into the floral foam.  With the flowers easily removable, maybe I could use these moss pieces for another occasion...

I think they turned out pretty well considering I was making it up as I went!  Since it's still snowy and ugly outside, I just wanted some greenery and flowers for the table, even if they are fake!

  1. I just love these little two-tone moss scenes with crocheted yellow flowers. Your Easter table will look gorgeous! I like the addition of the little tree knot for the colour and texture. Isn't crochet marvellous?!
