Mandala 1 Finished!

Mandala 1 Finished!

I finished!  What a fun pattern!  After I blocked it out, it turned out to be about 16.25 inches.  It's big.  I'm thinking it might look nice on the wall!  I just love the colors and may have gone overboard taking pictures of it... I couldn't help it!

If you've never tried overlay crochet before, I think you should give one of the patterns by CAROcreated a try!  If you know how to crochet in front loops and back loops, how to do a front post crochet stitch, and how to do treble and double treble crochet stitches, you should be fine!  It's a fun challenge, and it's fun to watch the design progress!  Or at least I think so!

I'm also making one with size 3 thread!  It will be interesting to compare the finished sizes of the worsted weight yarn and thread mandalas.  Hopefully I'll show you some progress soon!

Hope everyone's week is going well!

  9. I was wondering how big this would get. Mine already is already looking big and I'm only on round 11 or so. I was thinking it would be doily size, but I guess it will be much bigger.

Love your finished one and I can't wait to see your second one too!
