Attacking a UFO
The other day I pulled out an old project from the archives... I started this blanket last January, and have had all the pieces and parts crocheted for awhile. It's just all those pesky ends I have left to sew in so I can put it all together! I just hope it won't take another year to deal with the ridiculous amount of ends on each of these circles...
Do you guys have any unfinished projects that have been sitting around for awhile because the un-fun bits are what's left? If so, maybe you should suffer along with me! :)
Love your big circles!!!!! Pattern????
ReplyDeleteI need your address (via email!): tomorrow is groundhog day!!

Good morning Kate! I know all about those pesky loose ends to weave in! Once you get going, it's not too bad. I do one row at a time and then give myself a little crochet 'reward', like crochet a cute owl or something! It's a great idea because we get to do a chore and then something we really have fun doing alternately! When I do things this way, nothing seems a chore anymore! ;)
ReplyDeleteI think the trick to NOT get stuck with "all those pesky ends" is to finish off each individual piece before you start the next. Then when it comes to putting them together, you don't have to deal with so many all at once. :)
ReplyDeleteOh I know! Most of the time I don't have the self control to do that though hahaha! It's too exciting to see what the next piece is going to look like... Thanks, next time I will try harder!

End-sorting-out is a pain! I haven't done any on my granny squares. So that'll be a real treat when I EVENTUALLY get that far!!! I think I should get into the habit of doing it as I go!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

Weaving in the ends are my least favorite part :(
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, as much as I love crochet, weaving in ends just KILLS me! Sheesh. I'm now working on a project with lots of color changes, which means lots of ends to weave in. I think we should make a pact. I'll hold you to weaving in your ends if you hold be to doing the same with mine. ;)
ReplyDeleteWell, I have lots of unfinished projects cause the unfun part is all that is left. Unframed needlework, unquilted quilt tops, yarn projects in pieces. LOL
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should have a weave in party. Get your friend to help, feed them some chocolate and everybody wins.;)
My unfinished projects are usually ones that started to go wrong but I didn't have the heart to unravel them! But now that I think of it it's probably worse just to have them in a bag in the back of a closet, right? Sigh. :)
ReplyDeleteOOOh, this round one looks interesting...is the pattern available?
ReplyDeletei have been drooling over all your projucts since i founf you a couple of hours ago...
Actually, this is a pattern from an older magazine! http://www.amazon.com/Todays-Woman-Granny-Squares-Number/dp/B002FB44OA/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1318354200&sr=1-1
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you!!

ReplyDeleteI too have many "unfinished" pieces. The way I solved it was I found a tutorial on YouTube showing how to crochet the ends into the piece as you go. I haven't had to weave an end in since I found the video. Of course, now that I crochet the ends as I go, I will probably NEVER weave the loose ends in my other projects.
(Sorry, I accidentally rejected this comment, then couldn't bring it back!)
DeleteI sometimes do that depending on how close the stitches are... I get nervous that if I down sew them in with some direction changes that it will come out! I probably worry unnecessarily though!
