Wedding Gifts

Turned Tea-Light Candle Holders

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!  I had a wedding to go to this weekend, and I thought I'd share with you what I made for gifts!

First, we have a set of four turned mahogany tea light candle holders!  I tried to make each of them look differently from one another, and in varying heights.  I'm really pleased with how they turned out (no pun intended)!

Table Runner

Next we have a crocheted table runner.  I used size 3 thread, a D hook, and the pattern Motif 89 from Edie Eckman's Beyond the Square Crochet Motifs.  (Ravelry page.) It was a very easy pattern, and I crocheted the motifs together as I went with the little chain three picots.  (For joining, after sc, ch 1, sl st in picot in adjacent motif, ch 1, sc  in same st)

The only downside to a pattern like this is all the ends to sew in... but having all the color changes really makes the piece, so it's worth it!

The "flowers" really opened up nicely after blocking!  I also had a lot of fun creating the somewhat random look with the color combinations!

And here they are all together!  I hope they like them!!

  1. I love that table runner, the soft colours are lovely together and the design really pretty. The end result is beautiful and perfect for those wooden tea-light candle holders. Great work. Well done!
