Remember the embroidery I made for my friend's wedding? Well, for Christmas I made her ornaments based on that wedding embroidery which was based on her wedding invitation which was based on, just kidding, which was made by Kelly Thorn.

So I've had this idea to make a faux cuckoo clock for awhile, and I got my chance when I heard my friend and her boyfriend were able to get their own apartment sans roommates, which is very exciting! And nothing says "exciting" quite like a cuckoo clock right? Right.

I had a lovely Christmas and am so excited that I can start to share some of the things I've worked on in the past month or two! First, I thought I'd show you our Christmas table that my sister and I (quickly) put together. Our theme was "silver and gold."

I'm not sure if this little bit of snow is here to stay or not... I'd be a sad panda without a white Christmas!
Speaking of a white Christmas, do you guys like the movie White Christmas (with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye)? I'm not usually one for musicals, but this one works and it's pretty funny! (I saw it's on Netflix!) Another movie I can't go without seeing this time of year is Claymation Christmas. When I was little we watched it on vhs tape... recorded from tv!! You can't imagine how excited we were the year we found it on dvd! It's hilarious, amazing and it's because of this movie that I can't make it through the song We Three Kings without giggling...
What are your favorite winter holiday movies?

I realized I can show you guys something without ruining a surprise! This is an ornament I made for my sister and brother-in-law... It's a have-a-safe-travel-home-for-Christmas horse totem! In Native American culture horses represent, among other things, travel.

I almost forgot today was Tuesday!! Not that this picture is any indication of how I've been feeling as of late... haha!!
Hope you're all doing well out there and hope your heads aren't spinning too badly due to holiday preparations!

Hey, what's this? A blog post on glue? Seriously? Seriously. When you go to glue something and it doesn't glue... well, an un-sticky situation is no laughing matter! So when I go to work on on a paper project (say card making), I always turn to Elmer's Craft Bond glue sticks for my adhering needs! I've found that plain old regular glue sticks just don't work on certain types of paper, like magazine paper for example. I've used Craft Bond with success on cardstock, brown craft paper, magazines, used book pages, old calendars, junk mail...
And when I don't feel like getting my fingers all sticky, I turn to the adhesive squares. I love using the double-sided adhesive squares for scrapbooking because they aren't messy (although the little square backs you peel off the adhesive squares can get blown all over creating a bit of a mess...), you usually only need one square in each of the photo's corners, and they are acid-free (which means they won't hurt or discolor your photos).
I've used other brands of the adhesive squares, and find them all to work great, but when it comes to glue sticks, I will faithfully stick by Elmer's Craft Bond! Do you guys have a go-to glue?

Since I can't show you the gifts I'm working on yet (I'd hate to ruin the surprises!), I thought it might be fun to share with you some of my favorite crafting tools and supplies. Perhaps you'll find some gift ideas for the crafter on your list! Today I'm sharing with you how I feel about my Gingher Embroidery Scissors. And what better way to do so than with a letter?

"dive for dreams
or a slogan may topple you
(trees are their roots
and wind is wind)
trust your heart
if the seas catch fire
(and live by love
though the stars walk backward)"
-excerpt from dive for dreams by E.E. Cummings
(E.E. Cummings was the answer [or shall I say question?] to Final Jeopardy the other night... I guess I still have poetry on the brain!)
