Materials
3 colors of worsted weight cotton yarn (I used Lily Sugar'n Cream in White, Yellow, Hot Green, and Mod Blue in various combinations for all the motifs.)
Size H (5mm) hook
(Of course you could try any other weight yarn and an appropriate hook!)

8.5 inch diameter

Special Stitches
2 Double Crochet Cluster (2dc cluster): *Yarn over, insert hook in space, yarn over, pull up loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, repeat from * once, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on hook.

3 Double Crochet Cluster (3dc cluster): *Yarn over, insert hook in space, yarn over, pull up loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, repeat from * twice, yarn over and pull through all 4 loops on hook.

Double Crochet 2 Together (dc2tog): Yarn over, insert hook in stitch, yarn over, pull up loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, yarn over, insert hook in next stitch, yarn over pull up loop, yarn over and pull through 2 loops, yarn over and pull through all 3 loops.

Picot: Ch 3, sl st in previous sc. (Insert hook into front loop of sc and left most vertical bar under front loop of same single crochet, yarn over, and pull through vertical bar, front loop, and loop on hook.

Directions (Written in US Crochet Terms)
With Color A
Rnd 1- In magic circle, ch 3, 11 dc, sl st to top of ch 3, fasten off.
Rnd 2- Join Color B in any stitch, ch 3, dc in next stitch, ch 2, *dc2tog over 
       same stitch and next stitch, ch 2, repeat from * around, sl st to first dc, 
       fasten off.
Rnd 3- Join Color C in any ch 2 space, ch 3, 2 dc in same space, ch 1, 
       (3 dc, ch 1) in next space and in each space around, sl st to top of ch 3, 
       fasten off.
Rnd 4- Join Color A in any ch 1 space, ch 3, (dc, ch 1, 2 dc, ch 1) in same 
       space, (2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc, ch 1) in next space and each space around, 
       sl st to top of ch 3, fasten off.
Rnd 5- Join Color B in first ch 1 space after last sl st of Rnd 4, ch 3, 
       2dc cluster, ch 4, sl st in next ch 1 space, ch 4, *3dc cluster in next 
       ch 1 space, ch 4, sl st in next ch 1 space, ch 4, repeat from * around, 
       sl st to 2dc cluster, DON'T fasten off.
Rnd 6- Ch 1, sc in same stitch, sc in next space, ch 4, sc in next space, *sc in 
       3dc cluster, sc in next space, ch 4, sc in next space, repeat from * 
       around, sl st to first sc, fasten off.
Rnd 7- Join Color C to any middle sc of sc group, ch 1, sc in same stitch, 
       picot, sc in next sc, (sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc) in next ch 4 space, sc in 
       next sc, *sc in next sc, picot, sc in next sc, (sc, hdc, 3 dc, hdc, sc) in 
       next ch 4 space, sc in next sc, repeat from * around, sl to to first sc, 
       fasten off, sew in ends.

Block if desired. (I lightly pinned out my motifs, sprayed them with water and let them dry over night.)

  4. Thanks Kate, I have not done any crochet for years and was finding myself lost in the patterns and explanations, most patterns seemed so complex. This pattern was so easy to follow, well written, thank you for sharing.
