I loved making these baby gifts for my cousin Steph! How cute is that giraffe? You can find the pattern at I Love Buttons By Emma. Also, with a motif from the Japanese crochet book 300 Crochet Motifs and Edgings, I made the baby blanket that the stripy giraffe looks so comfy on! Want to see more?

Hey friends, I've been pretty busy and am excited to share a few things with you this week! Above is a quick work-in-progress shot of a doily I just recently started with size 20 thread (first time ever trying something smaller than size 10!), a size 13 steel hook and THIS pattern. I'm loving it so far! (I also feel like a giant using a hook so small that I can barely see the actual hook part on the end!)
I just spent a few days visiting my sister and brother in law in NYC, so I have a couple photos and something I made for them to share... and I can also show you some baby shower gifts I made for my cousin! Busy, busy!!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Yesterday early evening, as I was heading to the woodshop, I happened to look up and notice the moon perfectly framed within an opening in the clouds. I tore inside for my camera, but within seconds the clouds had shifted and I had missed my moment... But I took the picture anyways, of the missed moon.
Later, while trying to decide what I was going to post for today, I kept coming back to this photo. I thought that it could be a good one to pair with a quote.
"I could have. What does this phrase mean? At any given moment in our lives, there are certain things that could have happened but didn't. The magic moments go unrecognized, and then suddenly, the hand of destiny changes everything." - Paulo Coelho
I like to think that life is constantly conspiring to give us what we need and ultimately want. Perhaps the next thing that doesn't happen for you will actually be an opening door, or a break in the clouds if you will...
Happy Tuesday my friends!

I put everyone's lovely name in my beloved Buddha Bowl, and pulled these three names! I swear on my Grandmother's vintage doily patterns (now you know I mean business!), I did not cheat in any way! Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a steel crochet hook in my eye! So congratulations krazy knit kerena, Sandra, and Debbie! I will be contacting you ladies to see if you'd like a fox set or a horse, and if you have any color preferences!
Oh, one more thing!! I chose the name for the blog's little mascot! Drum roll please....... Oswald! So Carly, since you suggested this perfect name, you win too!!
I wish everyone could win, but I have been working on a pattern that I hope to share with you all very soon! Have a great weekend everyone!

I can't believe it's already Flag Day here in the US... Where is the time going? Is it just me, or does it seem like every day is flying by faster and faster?! I just want to grab ahold of Time and make it slow down a bit! Anyways, I hope you all have a great weekend, and stop by Saturday to see the results of the giveaway!

Today I want to show you what my dad and I made for my mom for her birthday (which was just the other day)! We made this lamp from pieces of cherry wood and parts from a broken ceramic lamp that a friend gave me awhile ago (thank you so much Kristen!!). I think it turned out pretty well...

It was tough fooling you guys when I gave you a sneak peek of one of these the other week! You guys were pretty much spot on! I present to you my doily dream catchers (or crocheted dream catcher/wall hanging thingies.) I suppose they would be my answer to "what would dream catchers look like if they were a little bit vintage, a little bit modern and a lot crafty?" I've made several, but I thought it would be nice to put them in smaller groups so I can go into a little more detail about each of them for those interested. These particular dream catchers are for those who dream in gold.
