Rug WIP
So as many of you guessed, I decided to try a rug from the nylon once I got it all untangled (which was no easy task)! The (free) vintage pattern I'm attempting is called Star Rug. I couldn't tell what size yarn the pattern called for, but after a few rows I could tell that my "yarn" is clearly WAY bigger! I mean, just look at those balls! (Tee hee.)
(My feet for some size reference) |
I'm using my L hook (8mm), mostly because I wanted to use my pretty wooden Brittany hook (here's one site that sells them). I was worried that I should have gone up to an N hook (9mm), but I think it's going to lie flat.
I'm only 7 rounds into the rug, and the main star pattern hasn't even started! It's hard to tell how far my balls of nylon will go, so I'm not sure how far into the pattern I will get! The finished rug is a circle, but I might just end up with a star... Do you guys think that would look ok? I don't know, the farther I get the easier it will be to figure out how it's going to work out!!
Hopefully I will have some better progress shots to show you soon! It's been pretty dark and rainy, so getting good pictures has been difficult... But I had to get some taken because I'm antsy to keep working on it!!
I love it, it's so gorgeous!
